How to add a booking link to your Google Business Profile

Add and test a booking link on an eligible Google Business Profile. Check the destination, profile controls and common link problems.

A booking link helps a customer move from finding your business on Google to arranging an appointment. It should open a page where they can complete the booking action for the correct business or location.

Adding a link to an eligible profile is free. This tutorial assumes you already have a working booking page. Your booking provider may charge for its own service, and adding the link does not create a scheduling system.

Before you begin

You need a verified Business Profile, an account with permission to manage it and the public URL of your booking page.

Booking controls are not available to every business or in every region. Use the options shown in your own profile. Google's business link policies explain eligibility and destination requirements.

Step 1 Copy the customer booking URL

Open your booking page as a customer, rather than copying the address from the provider's administration dashboard. Check that it identifies the correct business, service and location.

Copy the full public URL. Use a dedicated destination where the advertised action can be completed, rather than a social profile, messaging link or general page that sends people searching again.

For a multi-location business, choose the specific location's booking destination. A customer booking a Calgary appointment should not accidentally enter another branch's schedule.

Step 2 Test the destination on a phone

Open the link in a private browser window on your phone. Check that the page loads and that a new customer can understand how to proceed.

Review service descriptions, available dates, prices where relevant and any deposit or cancellation information. Do not make a real booking or payment just to test navigation. If the provider offers a test mode, use its instructions to verify the full workflow separately.

Step 3 Open the booking controls in Google

Sign into the Google account that manages the profile. Open the business's management controls in Google Search and select Booking, if available.

In Google Maps, the route may be Edit profile, followed by the appropriate transaction type. Google's local business link help covers the current controls.

Step 4 Add and save the link

Choose Add link, or Add another link if entries already exist. Paste your tested booking URL and save it.

When multiple links are supported, use the preferred-link control if you want to identify your preferred destination. Review existing entries so you understand which booking routes customers can see.

Step 5 Check the public profile

After the change is approved and visible, open the customer-facing profile and follow its booking link. Confirm that it still reaches the intended page on a phone.

Tell the person handling appointments which destination is now connected. Check the page again whenever you change providers, close a location or replace your booking address.

If something is not working

The Booking option is missing

Check profile verification and current eligibility. Do not change the business category to an inaccurate one just to expose a feature. Keep a useful website destination on the profile while you investigate with Google support.

Google rejects the link

Check for spaces, an incomplete address or a copied dashboard URL. Confirm that the destination supports the promised action and meets Google's policies. Use the actual booking URL rather than a shortener.

Another provider appears

Some booking links can be supplied by third-party providers. Identify the provider and use Google's removal process where applicable. Adding your own link is not proof that other links have disappeared.

Completion checklist

Tick each item as you complete it. Your checks stay on this page until you leave or reload.
