Customers using Apple Maps need the same accurate business information as customers using Google: the right location, hours, phone number and website.
Apple's management service is now called Apple Business; older tutorials may call it Apple Business Connect. This walkthrough covers adding or claiming an eligible physical business location. The basic listing management task does not require purchasing advertising or a paid device service.
Before you begin
Prepare your business name, actual location, category, public phone number, website, hours and access to business verification information. Use an Apple Account and recovery details the business can keep access to.
Check the Apple Business getting-started guidance before registering. If you work from home and only visit customers, check current eligibility with Apple before entering an address: creating a brand does not automatically mean you qualify for a public Maps location.
Step 1 Look for the existing location
Search Apple Maps for your exact business name and address. Note whether the business already appears and whether the pin points to the correct building.
An existing listing should be claimed or transferred through the relevant process rather than duplicated. Save its details so you can recognize it during setup.
Step 2 Sign into Apple Business
Open Apple Business in a computer browser. Sign in or follow the registration prompts, entering accurate organization information. Complete the account checks presented to you.
The available path can depend on your account and organization status. Apple's sign-up guide explains its account options.
Step 3 Add or select the location
In Apple Business, open Brands, then Locations, and select Add. Search for the location name. Choose the existing location if it is yours, or use the new-location option when it is genuinely missing.
Check the address and map marker. Enter the requested category, phone, website, opening status and hours. Associate the location with the appropriate brand when prompted.
Apple's location instructions provide separate routes for new and existing places.
Step 4 Complete the offered verification
Follow the organization or location verification process Apple presents. The route depends on the location and account. If another organization already manages the place, use the transfer request process.
Review any supporting documents before submitting them. Do not assume a newly created account makes the location public immediately.
Step 5 Prepare details customers can use
Check the listing against your website and your real operating arrangements. A shop in a shared building should have a useful entrance location and clear business identity. A business that opens by appointment should avoid suggesting walk-in availability.
Where photo controls are available, use real, current images that help someone recognize the premises. Avoid a generic stock storefront that has no connection to your location.
Step 6 Review the public result
After approval and publication, search again in Apple Maps. Check the business name, pin, phone, hours and website destination. Ask someone unfamiliar with the location whether they could find the entrance from the information shown.
Set a reminder to update holiday hours, moves and changed contact details. Treat the listing as part of your business information routine.
If something is not working
Another organization controls the listing: request a transfer through Apple Business. Gather evidence of the business relationship rather than creating a second place.
Verification is delayed: inspect your account status and requested actions. Watch the business inbox, including spam, for Apple communications.
The verification phone number is unfamiliar: contact Apple Business support. Do not try to obtain a code from someone unrelated to the business.
Your business has no public premises: confirm what Apple's current tools support for your business type before publishing location information.
